About the City - Mysore :

Mysore is located in South Karnataka and hailed as the cultural capital of the state. It has a long history and is famous for its heritage monuments, grand palaces, classical music and exquisite handicrafts. The city was ruled by Vijayanagara emperors followed by Wodeyars.During the regime of Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan, Sri Rangapatnam, located near Mysore became the epicenter of Art and Culture and capital of political activities. After fourth Mysore war the capital was shifted back to Mysore. During the period between 1831 to 1881 Mysore state was governed by the British through a resident.

Mysore is about 140 km from the state capital Bangalore and is well connected by road as well as rail. It has a moderate climate throughout the year and enriched by river Cauvery.
