ABOUT US
Zonal Institute of Education and Training, the Training
wing of KVS (an Autonomous body under the Ministry of Human Resource
Development, Govt. of India)
started functioning from April, 2004 in Siddharthnagar, Mysore. Shri. S.M. Saleem, Director of the
Institute assumed the duties from 10.05.2004. subsequent to his transfer to
KVS, Kolkata region, Dr. E.T. Arasu took over the charge as the Director of the
institute on 01.06.2010. On up-gradation of the post of Director, to the grade
of Deputy Commissioner, Shri. S. Selvaraj, Assistant commissioner took over the
charge of the Institute on 03.08.2011. Presently
it is functioning in the new premises opposite to Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mysore. The Institute has
a Training Centre, Hostel and Staff Quarters spread over an area of 5.0 acres.
The Hostel is well equipped and can accommodate 116 trainees at a time where
boarding facilities are also available. It has two air-conditioned VIP suites.
Since its inception, the Institute has conducted several In-service Training /
Orientation Programmes for Education Officers, Principals, Teachers, and
Administrative Staff of KVS. Training programme for KVS officials in
Educational Management, Office Management, Communication skills etc also were
conducted. ZIET, Mysore hosted a career exhibition in Guidance and Counseling
for students of several schools of Mysore which was organized by RIE, Mysore. The Institute is
well equipped with three Computer Labs, Training Hall, Seminar Hall etc. Added
to this, the Institute is nestled in the salubrious and beautiful environs of
the great city of Mysore,
over looking the holy hills of Chamundi. The Zonal Institute of Education and
Training Mysore
has earned a reputation for its excellent training programmes. Development of
new skill sets to meet the challenges of the new age has been the focus of each
training programme which is being successfully achieved. The Institute also is
winning acclaims for the comfortable and cozy stay provided to the trainees.
The Institute has also carved a niche for itself for the series of publications
it is bringing out, be it Reference Manual for teachers, Handbook for office
staff, study materials for students or Journal for the entire Kendriya
Vidyalaya Sangathan. KVS Quarterly Journal which is being brought out under the
editor ship of the Director, ZIET, Mysore is making waves in Sangathan through
it’s uniquenes in quality, gloss and content. At present KVS, ZIET, Mysore is functioning in
top gear meeting the targets and achieving the goals set by KVS in catering to
the training needs of all categories of KVS employees through it’s well
designed and systematically executed training programmes. All the training
programmes conducted under the aegis of ZIET, Mysore is designed to address the following
areas:-
1. Content enrichment
2. Attitude building
3. Skills development.
In short, every teacher / employee coming to ZIET, Mysore is subjected to a CAS scan (Content,
Attitude and Skills) and training is imparted matching their needs. This has
contributed to the immense success of our training programmes.

The Director KVS, ZIET, Mysore
has constituted two committees as under.

2. Monitoring Committee (ZIET Construction)
The Committee has three members drawn from BSNL (Civil Works) and SJCE, Mysore
to advise on technical matters pertaining to the construction works besides
representative of the construction Agency and Principal, K.V. Mysore. The
committee has been meeting regularly to inspect and monitor the construction
work.
